Ophelia "Nemmy" Williams-Jackson

Ophelia "Nemmy" Williams-Jackson is an educator, administrator, athlete, community leader, health advocate, and longtime public servant whose life has been rooted in service to the people of St. Croix and the Virgin Islands.

Born and raised in Grove Place, Nemmy is a proud graduate of St. Croix Central High School. She earned a basketball scholarship to attend college and later received a Bachelor of Science degree in Intermediate Education, a Master's degree in Management and Administration in Education, and completed 64 credits toward a doctoral degree at Nova Southeastern University.

Nemmy devoted decades of her professional life to public service, including a long career with the Virgin Islands Department of Education as a teacher and administrator, service as Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Housing, Parks and Recreation, and four years with the United States Postal Service.

Her commitment to service extends far beyond government. Nemmy has held leadership positions in numerous civic, athletic, professional, political, and community organizations, including the Virgin Islands Volleyball Federation, St. Croix Volleyball Association, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Rotary Club of St. Croix West, and the Democratic Party of the Virgin Islands.

A lifelong advocate for young people, Nemmy has used education and athletics to mentor students and help young athletes pursue opportunities for higher education. As a proud cancer survivor, she is equally passionate about healthier communities and founded the “Mind, Body N Soul Show” to provide health and wellness information to the public.

Nemmy's candidacy for the Virgin Islands Legislature is an extension of a lifetime of service. She brings experience in education, government administration, athletics, community leadership, and advocacy to her commitment to People • Progress • Prosperity.
