Our Elected Officials

A St. Thomas native and former Commissioner of Labor, Governor Albert Bryan Jr. was first sworn in as the ninth elected Governor of the Virgin Islands in January 2019 and was re-elected in 2022. His administration has focused on rebuilding after Hurricanes Irma and Maria, restoring the territory's hospitals and schools, stabilizing the Government Employees' Retirement System, and expanding economic opportunity across all three islands.

An attorney, poet and former Senator, Lieutenant Governor Tregenza A. Roach oversees the Division of Banking, Insurance and Financial Regulation, the Office of the Recorder of Deeds, the Office of the Tax Assessor and Corporations & Trademarks. Through the National Conference of State Legislatures he secured support for a resolution backing full citizenship rights for Virgin Islanders. He has served on the boards of the Disability Rights Center and Clear Blue Sky, Inc., chaired the V.I. Humanities Council, and is an award-winning author.

Sworn in in 2015, Delegate Stacey E. Plaskett represents the U.S. Virgin Islands in Congress, where she serves on the Committee on Ways and Means. A former Assistant District Attorney in the Bronx and counsel at the U.S. Department of Justice, she has fought to secure federal disaster recovery funding, equitable treatment for the territory in Medicaid and tax law, and a stronger voice for Virgin Islanders in Washington.
