Kurt A. Vialet

Senator Kurt A. Vialet is a lifelong Virgin Islander, educator, leader, and public servant whose life has been dedicated to improving the lives of the people of the Virgin Islands. Born and raised on St. Croix, he developed a deep appreciation for the values of hard work, education, family, faith, and community — principles that continue to guide him in both his personal and professional life.

For more than three decades, Senator Vialet devoted his career to education, serving as a teacher and principal. Throughout his years in the classroom and school leadership, he worked tirelessly to help students reach their full potential while creating opportunities that would prepare them for success. His passion for education has always been rooted in the belief that every child deserves access to quality learning experiences and the opportunity to achieve their dreams.

In 2014, Senator Vialet was elected to the Legislature of the Virgin Islands, where he has had the privilege of serving in the 31st, 32nd, 33rd, 34th, and currently the 36th Legislature. Today, he serves as Majority Leader of the 36th Legislature and Chairman of the Committee on Education and Workforce Development. His leadership is grounded in listening to residents, understanding their concerns, and working collaboratively to find solutions that strengthen the Territory.

Known for his accessibility and commitment to public service, Senator Vialet believes leadership begins with service. Whether meeting with constituents, supporting community initiatives, advocating for education, or addressing the challenges facing the Virgin Islands, he remains committed to improving opportunities for residents and helping build stronger communities.
